San Francisco prefers the classics: Ace Hardware reveals buyers' favorite paint colors

Go-to colors in the San Francisco area include time-honored favorites and a few new additions to the most-popular list.

That’s according to Ace Hardware’s Regional Paint Preference Survey (ARPPS) on paint purchases for the first quarter of 2022. It tracks consumer preferences and ranks top colors for buyers over the period.

Crisp whites, such as Chantilly Lace OC-65 and Simply White OC-117, are favored to create a canvas for other materials and fabrics, while Revere Pewter HC-172 is a mainstay in the neutral category. 

Deeper hues have also become favorites for their depth and richness, with Newburyport Blue HC-155 and Iron Mountain 2134-30.  

Some featured colors from the Color Trends 2022 palette that are making their way into many designs in the Bay Area are Mysterious AF-565 and Natural Linen 966.
